Project

I am an ecologist with a keen interest in animal movement, behavior, conservation, and plant sciences. During my master’s thesis, I focused on analyzing GPS location data of leopards in Botswana. Specifically, I investigated the impact of translocation as a management strategy to alleviate human-wildlife conflicts on the movement behavior of these animals.

Currently, I am engaged in a collaborative project between KORA and the Popecol Lab at UZH. Our project conducts a country-wide social survey to explore the attitudes of Swiss citizens toward the wolf. Since the wolf’s reintroduction to Switzerland 25 years ago, significant changes have unfolded, accompanied by emerging challenges. My objective is to delve into the various factors that influence the attitudes of the people, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the prevailing sentiment towards the wolf within our society. Ultimately, we aim to propose management interventions based on empirical findings to facilitate a harmonious coexistence between wolves and the human populations inhabiting the same areas.
